What do you need?
1 bat, 1 tennis ball or MILO Kiwi cricket ball per two or more players

How do you play?
1. One player [batter] to stand with the bat in front of him/her protecting his/her legs facing the thrower

2. The other players are all fielders/throwers and they spread out around the batter

3. The player with the ball throws underarm to try and hit the batter on the legs below the knee. If successful the thrower takes the bat. If unsuccessful, the player fielding the ball has the next throw from where he/she is standing. If a player catches the ball on the full he/she becomes the batter

4. The batter may turn to face the next thrower but must keep still with the feet together when the ball is thrown and only use the bat to protect the legs from the ball

Variation:
If the ball goes behind the batter or to either side, the batter is not allowed to move his/her body in the direction of the ball - they can only move the bat to protect the legs from the ball.

‘Keep your eye on the ball!’
