What do you need?
1 bat, 1 old stocking or sock, 1 tennis ball or MILO Kiwi cricket ball, 1 piece of string, a clothesline or suitable tree branch
How do you play?
1. Place a ball in an old stocking or sock and tie it with a long piece of string
2. Securely attach the string to a clothesline or a tree branch
3. The ball should hang about 10cm above the ground
4. Take up your normal batting stance
5. Hit the ball by playing with a straight or vertical bat
6. When the ball swings back, try to hit the ball again
7. The aim is to set a record for the number of hits in succession
Variations:
- Play a succession of front foot drives followed by back foot defensive strokes ie. drive, defence, drive, defence
- Play a succession of front foot drives followed by front foot defensive strokes ie. drive, block, drive, block
