Close in fielding with Daniel Vettori
Close in fielding with Daniel Vettori
Key points:
Move behind the line of the ball
Stay front on and take short, quick steps with the knees bent and the hands low, fingers pointing down and watch the ball into your hand.
Pick up the ball on the outside of the foot of the throwing arm side of the body keeping your eyes fixed on the target
Step onto the opposite foot, bring the throwing arm straight through with the wrist firm
Release the ball and follow through with the throwing arm towards the target
You can practise this one in the backyard.
