Cut shot with Grant Elliott
Cut shot with Grant Elliott
Key points:
When the bowler runs in make sure you keep your head still, eyes level and focused on the ball
As the bowler delivers the ball, swing the bat straight back straight and keep your hands in close to the body, cocking the wrists
At the same time move the back foot back and across by taking a big step toward the line of the ball
Keep the back foot parallel with the crease and turn your front shoulders.
Swing the bat down from high to low, away from the body to hit the ball with the arms fully extended
It’s important to keep the eyes focused on the point of contact
Roll the wrists and follow through transferring the weight onto a bent back leg
Your turn – go and practice with your mates.
